Trey is finally back in town! To celebrate we went out for sushi :)

We all shared a California Roll, Crispy Shrimp Tempura, and a Dragon Roll...all three were super delicious!

Happy Feet

Hellllloooooo from sunny (FINALLY) Ventura, California!

I am so happy to finally see the sun and feel its warmth...I mean, its AUGUST in California and I have been wearing jeans and a sweatshirt almost everyday!

I haven't posted since last weekend so here is a recap of my week...

I had Monday and Tuesday off this week...usually I would work Tuesday but since my bosses are in Hawaii for the week they asked if I would work Saturday and in return, take Tuesday off. I was stoked to have 2 days off in a row but ended up being sick for both of them! I basically laid on the couch all day and night with a sore throat and fever of about 102. Buuuut it was nice to relax I guess?!

Thursday was girls night. We got manicures and pedicures then met back at my apartment for margaritas, dinner and Glee...so much fun!

After work on Friday I drove to Long Beach to go to the Roller Derby bought with my cousin Emily. It was fun and we both sold some of our necklaces :)

Alex surprised me with tickets to the Jason Mraz concert at the Santa Barbara bowl :) The show isn't until October but I'm already excited!! (Thanks babe!!)

When taking out the trash the other day I found an awesome tricycle! It looks like its straight out of the 50's and it even has a headlight! It definitely needs some TLC but it looks like an awesome project for me to work on :)

That is what it looks like -- how cute is that? I'm not sure what color I'm going to paint mine yet....any suggestions?!

I'm in a super productive mood today so I am anxious to get off work and get some of my projects done!!

Sorry for the lack of personal photos in this post, I slacked on taking pictures this week....(or interesting ones at least hehe)

This post is all over the place so I'm going to end it here.

Weekend

I can't believe that today is August 1st! Where has the summer gone?! I am happy to report that my last weekend of July was eventful and a lot of fun!

Thursday (not technically the weekend, but it was still fun soooo I'm including it in this post :D) Jesse and I met one of my old friends from high school, Brian, two of his cousins, and one of his friends at Saddleranch in West Hollywood for dinner/drinks. They had taken a road trip from Minnesota and were spending some time in LA. It was fun to catch up and meet some new people. Also, Saddleranch has amazing mai tais that come in these huge cups (more like a pitcher, but not quite) so I was happy to share one with Jesse.

After work on Friday I met up with Brian and his crew again and we went to the Laugh Factory in Hollywood. There were so many good comedians and I was laughing the whole night but my favorites were Natasha Leggero and Dane Cook :)

I love this picture because it is so awkward bhahaha

we also went to Pinkberry before the show :)

On Saturday, Alex and I had a super lazy day. He got home around 3:30AM and I was still awake waiting for him so we slept in a little, watched a movie in bed, lounged on the couch, read a little and I did some crafts. Later in the evening we decided we wanted to see Inception but by the time we got to the theater the showing was sold out and we didn't want to wait until 10PM. Since we were already out of the apartment we decided to try Five Guys Burgers and Fries for dinner. We both thought it was yummy but its not as cheap as In n Out (and cheap is good!) I would definitely go back though :)

Today I have to work from 12-5, then the plan is to see Inception when I get home. I'm excited because I haven't heard one bad thing about it!

So I sold a skull on ebay...

So…I sold a skull on ebay….

Before you think I’m a total creeper, read the story!!

Alex needed a new desk (for his shiny new computer :-P) Emily and I had seen a really nice one at a garage sale a few weekends ago and so when I got home I told Alex about it. We decided to go check it out before church – it was exactly what he was looking for so we decided to buy it for $50. Later that night he was getting it all set up and called me into the room because he “had something to show me”….I walk into the room and he is holding a SKULL! After being totally freaked out for a few minutes (did I need to call the police?!) we realized that it was a skull that they use in medical/dental school (it had the springs on the jaw and some wax on the teeth, looked like they had been practicing on it). We weren’t sure what to do with it so we just put it back in the drawer.

Fast forward a few days…

Alex and I are both at work and he IM’s me telling me that Barker (his friend/coworker) told him that skulls are worth a lot of money! Apparently he had looked into getting one as a decoration once (weird, I know haha) and said they go for a couple hundred dollars! I listed it on ebay and we ended up selling to a really nice man who either collects skulls (yikes!) or is going to turn around and re-sell it. Either way, that turned out to be the cheapest desk ever!!

Before I packed it up I spent some time with the skull (bahahah now I totally sound like a weirdo) and kept wondering what their life was like; what was their name? where did they live? what did they do? did they like Disneyland?

Here are some pictures of our skull...

Who wants a puppy?!

We do!

I have wanted to get a dog since the day we signed our lease and I saw that we were allowed :) It didn't really make sense for us to have one during the school year though because we were always so busy and I would definitely feel guilty leaving the little guy (or girl!) home all day alone. But Alex recently got a job where he gets to work from home! Working from home means he will have time to take care of a dog :) We still haven't decided if the time is right but we did humor ourselves and go to a pet adoption a few weeks ago and met Holly...

isn't she cute?!

We didn't end up adopting her (or any of her furry friends) but when the time is right we will go back to the shelter and find a forever friend <3

The Pharm

I was lucky enough to spend 10 days at the Pharm this year. It was so much fun (like always) and I can't wait to go back (like always). I didn't get to do everything on my "to do in Michigan" list but I guess that just gives me an excuse to go back soon ;)

In a nutshell, the trip was full of parades, family, pharm work, the drive in, the pond, laughter and Justin Bieber dances (once I figure out how to upload video to this, you are in for a treat!). I'm so glad I got to spend so much time up there and am looking forward to next summer!

Wow! It has been a long time since I have posted!

I have a lot to update you on but first I want to wish a happy anniversary to my mommy and Ed. It was hard for me to pick just one picture from the wedding because they are all really cute so here are a few of my favorites...

My mommy was a beautiful bride (and look how handsome Trey was!...he still is hehe)
